Introducing Classical Eye
A first note on the project, FinderView, and the kind of practical film photography work the site will support.
Classical Eye begins with a straightforward ambition: to create a useful space for film photography.
The project is built around FinderView, an Android app that helps film photographers use a smartphone as a viewfinder, exposure meter, and field tool. Around that product, the site can support articles, notes, tools, and reference material that are genuinely useful in the field or workshop.
The editorial aim is practical rather than promotional. Large-format technique, medium-format and 35mm work, pinhole methods, vintage lenses, bellows, DIY cameras, and historical camera research all belong here if they help photographers make better decisions and better pictures.
