Privacy Policy for FinderView
FinderView is a photography utility app for film photographers. It helps users frame photographs, estimate exposure, preview formats, and use related photographic tools on their Android device.
This privacy policy explains what information FinderView accesses, stores, collects, or shares.
1. Summary
FinderView is designed to work primarily on your device.
FinderView does not sell your personal data.
FinderView does not use advertising.
FinderView does not use third-party analytics.
FinderView does not upload your photographs, camera preview, metering data, or settings to Classical Eye servers.
2. Camera access
FinderView requests access to your device camera.
The camera is used for features such as:
- live viewfinder preview
- exposure metering
- framing overlays
- focus, depth-of-field, and photographic calculation tools
- optional image capture features, where available
The live camera preview is processed on your device. FinderView does not transmit the live preview to Classical Eye.
If you choose to save an image using FinderView, the image is saved locally on your device, for example to your device gallery or app storage, depending on the feature being used.
3. Photos and saved images
FinderView may allow you to capture or save images.
Saved images remain on your device unless you choose to share, export, back up, or upload them using Android, Google Photos, cloud backup, messaging apps, or another service outside FinderView.
Classical Eye does not receive copies of your saved images.
4. App settings and photographic data
FinderView may store app settings locally on your device, such as:
- selected camera or film format
- lens settings
- exposure preferences
- metering settings
- display and overlay preferences
- calibration values
- feature settings
These settings are stored so the app can remember your preferences between sessions.
This information is not sent to Classical Eye.
5. Purchases and upgrades
FinderView may offer paid upgrades or in-app purchases through Google Play.
Purchases are processed by Google Play. Classical Eye does not receive or store your full payment card details.
Google may provide purchase confirmation information needed to unlock purchased features in the app. Google's own privacy policy applies to data handled by Google Play.
6. Data collection
FinderView does not intentionally collect personal information from users.
In normal use, Classical Eye does not receive:
- your name
- your email address
- your location
- your photos
- your camera preview
- your exposure readings
- your lens or film settings
- your device gallery contents
7. Data sharing
FinderView does not share personal data with third parties for advertising, analytics, profiling, or marketing.
Data may be handled by Google Play where necessary for app distribution, installation, updates, crash reporting provided by the Play platform, purchase processing, or licence verification. Any such processing is governed by Google's terms and privacy policy.
8. Permissions
FinderView may request Android permissions required for its features. These may include:
Camera
Used for live preview, framing, metering, and optional capture features.
Photos, media, or storage access
Used only where needed to save, open, or manage images created or used by the app.
Bluetooth or nearby device access
Used only if features involving external triggers, accessories, or connected devices are enabled.
Not every permission may be requested on every device or app version.
9. Children's privacy
FinderView is intended as a general photography tool and is not directed specifically at children.
Classical Eye does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Security
FinderView is designed to keep its normal app data on your device. You are responsible for the security of your own device, backups, and any third-party services you use to share or store images.
11. Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time, for example when new features are added or Android or Google Play requirements change.
The latest version will be made available on the Classical Eye or FinderView website and, where appropriate, linked from the app.
