Included in Pro

Core plus these expanded working features

Pro is built for photographers who want broader setup control, more viewing formats, deeper metering and focus support, better pinhole and adaptor handling, long-exposure preview, remote capture timing, and a fuller gallery workflow.

Distance Estimation

  • Distance estimation by tilt angle of phone
  • Allows image to be centred on object position on level ground
  • Phone height defined in settings
  • Distance estimation can show distance or bellows extension value

Depth of Field Tools

  • Also shows depth of field or hyperfocal distance for selected focal length
  • Combines aperture, focal length, distance and circle of confusion
  • Circle of confusion can be adjusted for depth of field calculation

Lens & Film Libraries

  • Multiple lens selections with name, focal length, maximum and minimum aperture
  • Define your own lenses or modify existing ones
  • Different lens sets defined for different formats
  • Film selections with name, iso value and reciprocity p-factor
  • Define your own film or modify an existing one
  • Also allows use of enlarging paper for paper negatives

Expanded Format Range

  • Small, medium and large format selection
  • Multiple film sizes available for 35mm, 120 and large format
  • Formats can be edited and deleted in the same way as lenses and films

Adaptor Support

  • Built-in support for wideangle lens adaptors for phones without a wideangle lens
  • Allows selection of adaptors from a list which can be edited in the same way as lenses and films

Remote Capture

  • Digital photo can be triggered from the app, volume button or a bluetooth trigger
  • Trigger the phone camera more conveniently when the film camera is handheld
  • Bluetooth trigger could be wired up to a flash lead to attach to the camera's flash sync socket (DIY mod)
  • Digital photo can then be triggered at the same instant as the camera photo, automatically

Reciprocity Metering

  • Selecting a film type allows metering to take account of reciprocity failure
  • Produces accurate metering even in dark conditions
  • Allows metering with pinholes, paper negatives or both together

Long Exposure Preview

  • For long exposures, the digital photo simulates the same exposure time
  • Exposures of minutes or hours show natural motion blur
  • Gives an accurate image for small apertures, pinholes and paper negatives
  • See the ethereal effect of waves, waterfalls and similar subjects directly in the viewfinder

Pinhole Tools

  • Lens definition of pinholes available
  • Pinhole lens entry recommends best hole diameter or focal length
  • Calculation for pinhole diameter, focal length and plate thickness
  • Vignetting effect of pinholes can be shown in preview area
  • The vignetting effect takes account of pinhole thickness, diameter and focal length

Metering Modes

  • Average, centre-weighted and spot metering selection
  • Spot metering shows metering area in the preview
  • Exposure value can be permanently displayed
  • Change between EV and Lux readouts
  • Works for all exposure modes

Exposure Calibration

  • EV calibration for accurate exposure readouts
  • Adjustable from -2EV to +2EV
  • Precisely match FinderView's exposure readings to a known acccurate light meter

Image Calibration

  • Compensate for distortion of wide-angle adaptor in the image preview
  • Calibration of lens coverage to match a specific camera

Histogram Display

  • Three-colour histogram can be displayed at any time over the preview image
  • The graph shows how image tones are distributed from dark values on the left to bright values on the right
  • The left section represents the shadow range, the centre section the midtones, and the right section the highlights
  • This makes it easier to judge whether the scene is weighted toward deep shadow, balanced tones, or bright highlight values
  • Variable opacity in settings

Gallery Workflow

  • All photos saved directly in the viewfinder's own gallery
  • Keep a digital record of all your camera shots, automatically
  • Optional GPS location data can be saved with each image
  • Add a user comment to any image in the gallery to identify subject, location etc
  • Share an individual image or selection of images by email, text etc at any time
  • Unlock all previous shots, and delete any photos no longer needed
